Your mission, should you choose to accept it: use free, engaging multimedia technology resources to overthrow boredom and educational apathy. Create an academic atmosphere where students want to learn!

Goals: Since students often become disinterested in critically important content specific concepts, we will learn how to use a variety of free, multimedia resources to strategically advertise what is to be taught and generate a desire for academic content. We'll learn how to use a number of freely available marketing tools:

We will learn how to efficiently: and effectively
  • identify and replicate a number of advertising ploys in terms of educational content
  • become cognizant of copyright issues
  • locate free resources for creating educational advertisements
  • create and refine compelling graphics (in a variety of file formats) for posters, brochures, web pages, and digital videos
  • generate soundtracks and sound effects for audio presentations, slide shows, and videos
  • use digital video editing resources

By the end of our session, everyone should able to create a series of educational advertisements, i.e.:
  • a poster,
  • an audio-recording,
  • a video commercial

Let's get started! Here's the agenda for this training session.
